Easy, filling, and nutritious breakfast parfaits will make your mornings easy and delightful!
Wash and dry the canning jars. If you are adding any flavoring to plain yogurt, do so now (see notes). Drop 1/2 cup of yogurt into each jar. Top each jar with 1/4 cup of fruit. Cover the jars with the lids and place in the refrigerator until ready to eat! Top with additional toppings as desired (see notes).
Flavored yogurt: I prefer to buy plain, unsweetened yogurt so that I can know exactly what I am adding to my yogurt. Some ideas for extra flavor include: a few drops of vanilla or almond extract, some lemon or orange zest, a few sprinkles of cinnamon or nutmeg.
Toppings: Certain toppings like granola or nuts may get soggy when they are layered on top of the yogurt and berries. For these types of ingredients, I would recommend storing the amount needed in a small, reusable container and then sprinkling on top of the yogurt right before eating.
