What is The Pleasant Plate?
The Pleasant Plate is a meal preparation service that offers personalized meal plans that are freshly prepared in your home every week. I take care of the meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning so that you have a fridge stocked with quality, flavorful meals waiting for you to reheat and eat!
Is The Pleasant Plate for me?
If you are a busy person, someone who doesn’t enjoy cooking, or if you would like to have delicious meals prepared for you weekly, then The Pleasant Plate is a perfect fit for you!
Is this a subscription based service?
No, you are not required to order meal plans every week. However, since you have a specifically reserved time slot each week, you may be moved to a different time slot upon returning if you have taken more than three consecutive weeks off.
How does The Pleasant Plate differ from other meal delivery services?
Instead of having pre-portioned ingredients delivered to your doorstep, I come into your home and do the cooking for you. I do the grocery shopping right before cooking to ensure that the ingredients are as fresh as possible. I also clean up after I cook, so that your kitchen looks just as clean as it did when I arrived.
How much does The Pleasant Plate cost?
There are two components to the cost:
Service Fee (based on the number of dishes per week) + Cost of Groceries = Total Cost/Week
The service fee is $30 per dish, which covers the meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning. Dishes typically consist of 4-6 servings each, but this can be personalized to best fit your lifestyle. Since I require a minimum of three dishes per week, the minimum service fee per week is $90 + the cost of groceries.
For example, if you are a part of a family of three whose diet consists of conventional produce and meat, and you decide to go with three dishes per week, your total cost would be $90 (service fee for the three dishes) + $100-$130 (average cost of groceries for this type of diet) = $190-$220 per week. This is an estimated price, as prices differ by week based on the dishes served. The price of groceries is also effected by your dietary preferences, such as organic vs. conventional food, meat or fish vs. vegetarian based meals, and the amount of food ordered each week.
When explaining the pricing, what is a “dish”?
A dish refers to one prepared meal within your meal plan. Each dish generally contains 4-6 servings, although this can be personalized to fit your specific dietary preferences. Some examples of a dish include:
- Salmon with a creamy sun-dried tomato sauce and a side of garlic roasted broccoli
- Sweet potato and lentil curry with jasmine rice
- Miniature meatloaves with lemon pepper asparagus
- Quinoa and vegetable stuffed peppers with spiced shrimp and black beans
What diets and lifestyle habits does The Pleasant Plate cater to?
